FORMER ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL IN PRISON

The motion
That this House notes with concern that disproportionate numbers of former members of the armed services are currently in prison; further notes that many are homeless and others have become mentally ill; believes that the Government should consider creating an independent Armed Forces Inspectorate, with powers to carry out investigations into issues of public concern and other related issues; and therefore calls on the Government to recognise the need for an Armed Services representation body and to give all assistance towards its establishment.
