Tabled by Paul Rowen (Liberal Democrat) 20 signatures

The motion

That this House notes with concern the plight of performers in the United Kingdom; calls on the Government to support the European Copyright Term Directive, giving such musicians a fair copyright term; further notes that the Directive has the support of the French and German governments as well as numerous MEPs; further notes the support of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee of a fair copyright term for musicians; and believes that the United Kingdom should follow the lead of the United States in this matter by extending the copyright terms for performers and producers.
