The motion
That this House notes with concern the increasingly severe shortage of public conveniences on high streets and in town centres; notes in particular the difficulty this causes for people with certain medical conditions and especially for older people; congratulates the Government for publishing guidance on innovative ideas to help councils to tackle the shortage of public toilets such as paying local shops and businesses to give the public access to their toilets; urges local councils to take up these suggestions; further notes, however, that in cases where changing facilities for babies and disabled children are not available such facilities should be provided; and in particular draws attention to the serious lack of public changing facilities for disabled adults which should be remedied as a matter of urgency.
