EX-SERVICE PERSONNEL AND POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER IN PRISON

Tabled by James Gray (Conservative) 51 signatures

The motion

That this House is concerned at the level of care given to ex-service personnel suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in prison; is disturbed by the fact that around £340 million of taxpayers' money is spent keeping the 8,500 troops/veterans inside the prison system yet they are not assessed or treated for PTSD; further notes that no research has been done by the Government into how many ex-service personnel in prison have PTSD; and urges the Government to do more to support ex-service personnel in prison.
