JOBCENTRE PLUS AND COMPANIES ENTERING ADMINISTRATION

The motion
That this House is deeply concerned at the lack of consistency shown by administrators in allowing the excellent Jobcentre Plus access to employees on the day a company enters administration; calls on the Insolvency Service and the Department for Work and Pensions to ensure administrators work with Jobcentre Plus by instructing the administrators to inform Jobcentre Plus of a company entering administration, therefore allowing Jobcentre Plus to help those employees affected to find new employment, access to benefits and training; and considers that denying employees access to Jobcentre Plus from day one is shamefully short-sighted, and ignores the future welfare of employees, who have more often than not worked for the company going into administration for many years.
