STANDARDS OF CONDUCT AND THE BBC

The motion

That this House notes the recent actions by the BBC regarding inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour by some prominent people employed by the Corporation such as Jonathan Ross, Jeremy Clarkson and Carol Thatcher; and asks the Director General and other leading personnel ultimately responsible for the BBC in circumstances like these to offer a rational explanation which might convince the viewing and paying public that the determinant factor used in deciding on the range of sanctions imposed is not linked to the ratings obtained by the personalities involved.
