THAMES GATEWAY FUNDING FOR CASTLE POINT

Tabled by Bob Spink (Independent) 1 signatures

The motion

That this House is concerned that Thames Gateway, which has distributed £593.7 million in capital sums over the last five years has, during that period, distributed only £1.291 million, representing only 0.2 per cent. of the total to Canvey Island, and nothing at all to the greater part of the constituency of Castle Point on the mainland; believes this unelected and unaccountable body is wasteful, profligate and discriminatory; and calls on the Government to disband it and ensure that public money is channelled more evenly across constituencies, through more democratic processes and is spent on projects the public supports.
