BRISTOL PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

Tabled by Stephen Williams (Liberal Democrat) 11 signatures

The motion

That this House notes that over 300 families in the City of Bristol have not been offered a primary school place for September 2009 admission, with particular pressure in the wards of Ashley, Bishopston, Henleaze and Redland; recognises that this lamentable failure to carry out a basic duty by the current minority Labour administration of Bristol City Council has caused great worry and anxiety for parents and children; and further recognises that this has come about despite ample evidence and repeated warnings that demographic changes in the north west and central areas of the city necessitated an increase in the number of primary school places.
