CABINET MINUTES AND FREEDOM OF INFORMATION

Tabled by Mr Dai Davies (Independent) 26 signatures

The motion

That this House fundamentally disagrees with the arguments presented by the Secretary of State for Justice in his statement on the use of section 53 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to justify the use of a veto to reject the decision of the Information Tribunal that the minutes of the Cabinet meetings on 13 and 17 March 2003 that discussed the basis of the legality of invading Iraq should be released; and calls upon the Secretary of State to reconsider his decision in the public interest.
