ABORTION AND NORTHERN IRELAND

Tabled by Sammy Wilson (Democratic Unionist Party) 4 signatures

The motion

That this House supports devolution in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; believes that it is right that locally-elected representatives should be able to debate and vote on matters that affect their respective countries; notes that the four major political parties in Northern Ireland oppose the extension of the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland; and calls on the Government to ensure that any decision to extend the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland is made by the Northern Ireland Assembly.
