Tabled by Sir Mark Hendrick (Labour (Co-op)) 29 signatures

The motion

That this House notes with concern the lack of public security in urban areas across Brazil, particularly for poorer communities and the vulnerable residents within them, notably women and children; encourages the Brazilian government to adopt long-term measures to address this problem by increasing investment in social development projects and investigating police corruption and abusive policing methods; and urges the Brazilian government to put forward a national agenda to combat violence in these communities which is to include greater freedom and adequate budget for the federal police service to implement government policy.
