NETWORK RAIL MAINTENANCE OF SHREWSBURY STATION

Tabled by Daniel Kawczynski (Conservative) 1 signatures

The motion

That this House is deeply concerned by the different ways in which Network Rail looks after Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton stations; notes that whilst weeds are allowed to flourish on the tracks at Shrewsbury, they are sprayed regularly at Wolverhampton, that whilst walls are allowed to peel in Shrewsbury they are regularly painted at Wolverhampton, and whilst buddleia is allowed to grow from walls in Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton is spick and span; urges Network Rail to ensure that the County Town of Shropshire with its regional historic significance and beautiful architecture is not let down by the condition of its railway station, which is itself a very historic building; and urges Network Rail and Arriva to show more respect for Shrewsbury and to treat its railway station in the same way as Wolverhampton.
