THE BIRMINGHAM YARDLEY WATCHES

That this House welcomes the introduction and establishment in Birmingham, Yardley, of the numerous and well-supported watch movements in support of the following popular activities, street watches - the police, law and order and civil objectives (non-intervention), fire watches - teaching use of fire appliances in non-operational roles and for refurbishing canals, health watches - to teach first aid to schools, community watches - to provide mobile advice bureaux and meeting places, animal and wild life watches - to preserve and protect certain domestic and wild animal species and to observe wild life in parks, fields, forests, the sea-side, rivers, canals and other places and to ensure the public is protected from certain fierce breeds and that dogs are trained well and only bred under ideal conditions, canal watch - to encourage their proper use, both on and off water, and that of the Grand Union, the longest and one of the widest-locked in Britain, and in particular refurbish them with tourist walks and generally clean-up; notes the vehicular support availability of community buses, ambulances, fire engines, hoists, four-wheel drive vehicles and boats; and wishes them well and hopes that these voluntary unpaid people's movements will further expand in Birmingham, Yardley and Britain.
