ENDOWMENT MORTGAGE COMPLAINTS

That this House notes with concern the time-barring by financial institutions of endowment mortgage complaints; further notes that in many cases endowment mortgages were mis-sold to consumers in the 1980s and 1990s; further notes that time-barring disadvantages elderly and vulnerable consumers and has excluded them from the benefits of recent research and policy changes; and therefore urges the Government to review the Financial Services Authority's policy on time-bars.
