NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION COLLEGE EAST

That this House is concerned by the Learning and Skills Council's decision to omit National Construction College East (NCC East) from the further education capital programme; notes that the college delivers 150 courses in 11 high demand specialisms including civil engineering, roofing, plant operations, scaffolding and steeplejacking; further notes that no other college nationally is capable of providing the facilities, space, specialist equipment and teaching expertise to deliver this type of training; believes that the Learning and Skills Council should reconsider its decision and look again at providing essential funding to NCC East; and urges the Government to do everything in its power to ensure that the future of NCC East is secured as a vital asset to the national economy.
