The motion

That this House is disappointed at the Government's rejection of the recommendations contained within the Culture, Media and Sport Committee's Report on The Licensing Act 2003, HC 492 with respect to the performance of live music entertainment; welcomes proposals for legislation to create a conditional exemption from licences for the performance of any live music in a small pub or similar venue, to reintroduce the rule allowing up to two performers to play live music anywhere without the need for a licence, and to enable hospitals, schools and colleges to perform live music without the need for licences; and urges the Government to support such legislative proposals.
