KASHMIR CONFLICT

That this House records that 27 October 2009 marks the 62nd anniversary of the Indian occupation of large areas of the state of Jammu and Kashmir; welcomes the improvement in confidence-building measures between India and Pakistan; but notes that the respective governments have made little progress in settling the core issue at the heart of the Kashmir dispute, which is the right of the people of Kashmir to determine their own future.
