NUCLEAR ARMS REDUCTION AND TRIDENT REPLACEMENT

That this House congratulates US President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on their agreement to conclude a treaty on the reduction of deployed nuclear warheads within seven years; welcomes the commitment made by their two nations to lead the global effort for nuclear arms reduction and commitment to nuclear obligations; and calls on the Government to reduce the number of UK nuclear weapons and in particular to allow its policy onTrident replacement the full scrutiny of the democratic process in Parliament.
