GUANTÁNAMO BAY

That this House welcomes the efforts being made by President Obama to close Guantánamo Bay; notes the common legal heritage between Great Britain and the United States especially in regard to the writ of habeas corpus; further notes that the issue of Guantánamo Bay is before the United States Supreme Court for a fourth time; and supports an effective remedy for those prisoners who have been found by a competent court to be innocent of any wrongdoing, but who continue to be held.
