ROYAL NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF'S READ MY LIPS CAMPAIGN AND ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

That this House welcomes the Royal National Institute for the Deaf's (RNID) Read My Lips campaign to help the nine million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK; notes that, following a campaign by the RNID, the hon. Member for Castle Point and others, Essex County Council has now changed its lip reading classes charging policy; and calls on all local authorities to take a more understanding and caring attitude towards deaf and hard of hearing people.
