50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEAGUE CUP COMPETITION

The motion

That this House congratulates the Football League on the 50th anniversary of the League Cup competition; recognises that no other competition is as effective in spreading football's wealth throughout the professional game in England and Wales; notes the increased interest in this year's competition, including increased attendances; and hopes fans of both Aston Villa and Manchester United enjoy the historic Carling Cup Final at Wembley on 28 February 2010.
