HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND THE SEX TRADE

Tabled by Baroness Clark of Kilwinning (Labour) 47 signatures

The motion

That this House condemns human trafficking; notes with dismay that human trafficking for the sex trade is a particularly brutal part of this criminal activity; further notes that this modern form of slavery includes domestic servitude, bonded labour and forced marriage; welcomes the attempts that have been made to crack down on trafficking and the Government's support for Council of Europe conventions on this issue; and calls for continued vigorous Government action to raise awareness and stamp out this appalling trade in human lives.
