Tabled by Lord Brennan of Canton (Labour)

The motion
That this House recognises that more than 10,000 people in the UK are awaiting an organ transplant; notes that there is a shortage of organ donors and that an opt-out system could potentially have provided over 2,800 extra donors in the last 10 years; further recognises that the Welsh Assembly Government and the Kidney Wales Foundation are in favour of a policy of opt-out organ donation in Wales; and believes that this system would save even more lives if extended to the rest of the UK.
