The motion
That this House notes that in an interview with the BBC on 9 June 2010, the Foreign Secretary asserted that in respect of Iran's nuclear transparency obligations to the international community, it had to allow the International Energy Agency inspectors to have the necessary information about the nuclear enrichment facility at Qom, and that that information has never been supplied; further notes the Written Answer given by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State to the hon. Member for Brighton, Pavilion on the same day that `We have no plans to establish procedures to allow the international community to verify the UK's nuclear warhead stockpile. The UK has made this announcement in order to be more open, but we have to limit access to military sites in order to protect our national security interests and to adhere to safety and security measures', and believes that this Answer is not consistent with the Foreign Secretary's assertion about Iran's failure to co-operate with the international community over nuclear inspections; and therefore calls on the Government to make arrangements for full verification of the UK nuclear warhead stockpile by independent inspectors on behalf of the international community.
