REFORM OF VOTING RIGHTS IN THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

That this House believes that after spending some £50 million on 10 years of failed managers, failed contracts, and failed pay-outs, it is time for a democratic revolution in the Football Association (FA); concludes that there should be a subscription system for England fans to exercise voting rights in the FA; further concludes that it would be in the national interest for England fans to vote for the FA Board and Chairman, and to fire them if they do a bad job; agrees that grassroots football clubs should have a greater say over how local money is spent on football; and therefore calls on the Coalition Government to recognise the cultural importance of football to England, and to change the law so that the FA is truly accountable to England fans.
