The motion
That this House notes that Harlow has only one motorway entrance, unlike other major towns and that recent road improvements have not solved this problem; is concerned that congestion causes a huge economic cost to Harlow and the M11 corridor; agrees with every major public sector body and private business in the area that an extra junction on the M11 (7a) would massively boost jobs and private sector investment in the region, create higher tax receipts and more jobs for Harlow; believes that the cost of an extra junction would be very modest, given the available investment from local housing developments; and therefore calls on the Government to consider investment in an extra junction when the public debt and deficit has been reduced.
