The motion
That this House congratulates the Minister for Communities and Local Government on his plans to reform the Tenant Services Authority (TSA); believes that his proposed reforms are important and timely for many millions of social tenants across the UK and are very welcome indeed; is concerned however that the TSA has recently written to local authorities requiring them to press ahead with a timetable of inspections and annual reports; further believes that this timetable appears to be unnecessary and does not take sufficient account of the potential changes to the TSA's role over the coming months; understands that this could cost Harlow District Council as much as 70,000 in wasted expenditure at a time when resources are scarce and when local residents rightly expect value for money; further believes that these costs will probably be replicated around the country; and calls on the Government to consult with the TSA to see whether its timetable of annual reports is necessary or desirable.
