The motion
That this House believes that the Post Office, its retail partners and politicians have a responsibility to ensure full and proper access to all UK post offices; notes that the relationship between the Post Office and WH Smith has brought financial benefits to both parties; understands that the contractual agreement between the Post Office and WH Smith allows for post offices in basements and upstairs locations; further believes that where there are access restrictions and inadequate stair or lift facilities the agreement thereby disadvantages many elderly people, many disabled people and parents with young children; further believes that the contract between the Post Office and WH Smith requires immediate Government examination; and calls for measures to ensure that post offices will be located on the ground floor or that post offices should be easily and fully accessible for all users, within an agreed timeframe.
