The motion
That this House notes with concern the significant rise in tuberculosis (TB) in the UK over the last 20 years to over 9,000 cases and 400 deaths annually; recognises that London accounts for nearly 40 per cent. of all cases and has a higher rate of TB than any other capital in western Europe; further notes that TB often affects the poorest and most vulnerable communities; welcomes the recently published London TB Service Review; and urges the Government seriously and urgently to consider implementing the recommendations made in the review including the establishment of a London Board of TB Control.
