The motion
That this House acknowledges the Government's commitment to provide 0.7 per cent. of gross domestic product in international development funding by 2013 to help tackle poverty; recognises the dedication shown by those taking part in this year's Oxfam Poverty Challenge Week which took place from 1 to 7 November 2010; and congratulates the 100 or so people in the North of England agedfour to 60 years who took part in this year's challenge, including Nicola Sansom in Manchester who walked or ran six kilometres every day for every 20 litres of water she used, and the teachers, parents and children of Dore Primary School in Sheffield who took on a host of challenges from sleeping on the floor to only having one hour of electricity each day and Heather in Lancaster who lived in a tent for a week in order to demonstrate solidarity with those living in poverty both in the UK and overseas.
