UTILITY CHARGES AND VULNERABLE GROUPS

That this House calls on utility providers such as BT and electricity companies to re-assess decisions taken several years ago to impose additional charges on customers who choose not pay their bills by direct debit, as this places an unduly harsh penalty on vulnerable groups such as those on low incomes, single parents and elderly people.
