NATURE RESERVES

The motion
That this House is deeply concerned at the Government's decision to absolve itself of the responsibility for the running of nature reserves at the same time as selling off the public forest estates; is also concerned that wildlife charities such as the National Trust and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds will struggle to take on these responsibilities without adequate Government funding; and calls on the Government to re-examine and dispose of its proposals for the future of nature reserves and public forests in light of the public outrage and strength of feeling on this issue.
