The motion
That this House regrets that the Cabinet Office was unable to reveal its historical spending on press cuttings services over the last 10 years, citing disproportionate cost; notes they are the only part of Government not to publish this information in reply to a parliamentary question, and that every other Government department or ministry was able to reveal the cost of their press cuttings services in some form; and welcomes the cuts in unnecessary administrative spending by the present Government, and the Cabinet Office, in order to protect frontline services, but calls on the Government to go further, and scrap spending on press cuttings services immediately, where the service can be provided for free through an online alert.
