CARER'S ALLOWANCE AND THE UNIVERSAL CREDIT

The motion

That this House welcomes the decision by the Government not to incorporate carer's allowance into the Universal Credit and the fact that carer's allowance will continue to exist as a universal benefit; further welcomes the acknowledgement by the Government of the importance of carer's allowance as a universal benefit providing recognition of the role that carers play; and urges the Government to continue to take forward its strategy to support carers.
