That this House notes that since November 2007, London Midland Trains has received over 260 million in public subsidy and that passenger revenue has seen a like-for-like 7.1 per cent. increase in the six months to 1 January 2011; is therefore appalled that the company has brought forward proposals to cut 62 full-time and eight part-time jobs and to remove or leave unfilled a further 60 full-time vacancies, completely close nine ticket offices and reduce opening times at 77 of their other staffed ticket offices; believes that trained ticket office staff are best placed to advise rail users on their preferred and cheapest travel options; and therefore calls on London Midland Trains to withdraw these proposals, which will have a detrimental effect on jobs and rail services.
