TRADING STANDARDS

That this House notes the tremendous impact trading standards has on protecting consumers from rogue traders and advising business on fair trading; believes that the current economic climate may make consumers more vulnerable to fraud, fakes, scams and rip-offs; and further believes it essential thatthe Government continues to support the efforts of trading standards officers in England and Wales to prevent consumers from being defrauded by unscrupulous traders.
