JAPAN EARTHQUAKE

That this House notes with the gravest concern the impact of the largest earthquake in Japanese history and the massive destructive power unleashed by the subsequent 10 metre tsunami on the people of Japan, and its economy and the populations of the wider Pacific Basin; sends its heartfelt condolences to the people of Japan for the loss of life and destruction of livelihoods; and commends the response of the Government in offering what assistance it can to the Japanese government.
