ASSETCO AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

That this House notes that AssetCo has secured a 120 million contract to provide a firefighting service to the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE); further notes that UAE forces have been involved in crushing the pro-democracy uprising in Bahrain; further notes that AssetCo owns and maintains all of the London Fire Authority's appliances; condemns AssetCo's dealings with such an autocratic and tyrannical government; and calls on the Chairman of the Fire Authority, Brian Coleman and the hon. Member for Bromley and Chislehurstto distance themselves publicly from AssetCo's actions.
