HEALTH WHITE PAPERS AND THE FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH

That this House is alarmed that the current NHS and Public Health White Papers produced by the Department of Health contain little detail or clarification with respect to a number of important issues highlighted by the Faculty of Public Health in its response to consultations; notesits concerns that such reforms, if introduced as currently proposed, could seriously undermine public health services, fragment the workforce and significantly affect training, recruitment andretention of staff,publicconfidence in the independence ofprofessional advice of the Director of Public Health, cause confusion around public health budgets and significantly undermine existing and future public health community support within the service; and callson the Government asa matter of urgency to meet with the faculty to address these serious and alarming concerns.
