BARNET FREMANTLE CARE HOMES

That this House notes with concern the reported outbreak of legionella in the Barnet Fremantle Care Homes; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health to commission an independent inquiry into the outbreak to identify the extent of the incidence of legionella amongst residents of the care homes, staff and public, when and where in each of the affected homes legionella was discovered, who is responsible for monitoring the safety of the water supply in such settings, the most recent date on which each setting was checked, the information which has been provided to carers and relatives of residents and service users and action which has been taken by Catalyst Housing Group to tackle this serious situation.
