ELECTION OF FIRST LEICESTER MAYOR

That this House congratulates Sir Peter Soulsby on his election as the first Mayor of Leicester; welcomes that, in his acceptance speech, he promised to work with all parties and groups to create a confident and wealthy city; agrees with the Leicester Mercury that this represents a new era for Leicester; and wishes him well for his term of office.
