DIABETES AND THE ASIAN COMMUNITY

That this House welcomes the work of the BBC Asian Network in its campaign to raise awareness of diabetes and other preventable diseases which affect the Asian community; notes that awareness and educationare key to preventing such diseases as diabetes and that the BBC Asian Network has a unique role to play in this task; recognises the impact of information and advice on preventing Type 2 diabetes alongside improving lifestyle factors; and calls on the Government to encourage greater awareness of the causes and prevention of conditions such as diabetes.
