The motion
That this House expresses concern over Formula One's (F1) decision to re-schedule the Bahrain Grand Prix in October in the current political climate in that country; deplores the current repressive measures conducted by the Bahraini government towards legitimate democratic protestors; notes that the staging of the Grand Prix in Bahrain may well deflect attention from these critical protests; further notes that the Grand Prix could act as a focal point for clashes, endangering both participants and spectators of the Grand Prix; questions F1 over its decision to re-schedule the Grand Prix inlight of the recent situation; believes that theBahrain Grand Prix should not go ahead and that F1 should re-consider its decision immediately; and calls on the Government to express its grave misgivings over the decision and to do all it can to see that the decision is reversed.
