The motion
That this House notes that National Carers Week takes place from 13 to 19 June 2011; acknowledges the invaluable role of carers of all ages in Walsall South and across the UK; recognises that these carers provide vital support to vulnerable people in society; further notes that their hard work and commitment can regrettably go unnoticed; welcomes Carers Week as a great opportunity to raise awareness of the services they provide; thanks the almost 10,000 carers in Walsall South who give so much for others; applauds these carers, and the organisations that support them, for their selflessness and dedication; further notes that in Walsall South, more than 1,200 carers are in poor health and almost 5,000 are juggling work and care; and calls on the Government to recognise and support the contribution of carers to society, not only during Carers Week, but at all times.
