The motion

That this House recognises that the advice offered by the Home Improvement Trust can play a vital role in supporting local authorities' housing renewal activity in order to support older home owners; values the role that this plays in reducing the demand for residential care; commends the work that this organisation has done already in helping many older home owners, who often have no savings and are already in debt, to stay in their own homes for longer; and urges the Secretary of Statefor Communities and Local Government to do more to make local authorities aware of this valuable advice and service.
