ENERGY PRICES AND WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE

That this House opposes the energy price rises by companies like Scottish Power; calls on the other energy companies not to follow suit; furthercalls on the Government to reverse its decision in the March budget to cut the winter fuel allowance by up to 100 for the poorest pensioners as a result of these price hikes; demands more to be done to prevent UK energy customers being so at the mercy of energy companies; and therefore urges the Government to move urgently to help not hinder the poorest energy consumers in our country.
