STABILITY OF THE CARE SECTOR

That this House acknowledges the financial difficulties facing many of the new owners of former Southern Cross care and nursing homes; believes there is a high probability of further financial problems within the care sector; is concerned about the effects such problems could have on the residents and employees of homes nationwide; and urges the Government to further regulate operators' ability, financially and otherwise, to operate nursing and care homes.
