Tabled by Robert Halfon (Conservative) 5 signatures

The motion

leave out from `House' to end and add `notes that the United Nations report of 1 September by Sir Geoffrey Palmer into the flotilla incident of May 2010 confirms that Israel's naval blockade of Gaza is legal and affirms Israel's right to take reasonable steps to prevent the illegal trafficking of weapons into Gaza; further notes the report's conclusion that the ship on which the incident took place barely contained any humanitarian goods beyond the personal possessions of passengers; further notes the report's view that some of the passengers prepared well in advance for the violent resistance of any boarding attempt; further notes that Israel made repeated attempts to avoid confrontation, both through communication with the Turkish government and with the ship; and calls on the Government to work with other nations to demand that Hamas and other groups abide by the Quartet Principles and renounce terrorism'.
