The motion

That this House welcomes the erection of a statue at Wembley Stadium celebrating the sport of Rugby League; believes this is a fitting tribute to a sport synonymous with the home of Rugby League and the Challenge Cup Final since 1929; notes that the campaign by the RFL, the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group and others has been successful; recalls some of the outstanding examples of sporting excellence displayed at the original and new stadium; and looks forward to seeing the statue once complete.
