CLAIMS UNDER THE RIOT (DAMAGES) ACT 1886

<p>That this House notes the Prime Minister's commitment to meet legitimate claims under the Riot (Damages) Act 1886by police authorities in areas where the recent public disorder took place; further notes that to date Greater Manchester Police Authority has no certainty as to whether its claims will be met and how this will take place; and calls on the Government to clarify its position at the earliest opportunity.</p>
